Buried silver medals were found in Mary Velayat during the construction works on the territory of Serhetabat Etrap.
According to the results of preliminary analysis conducted by the specialists of the Ancient Merv State Historical and Cultural Reserve, it is supposed that 191 coins of various values are dated back to XV century.
It is interesting that the place, where the unique finding was discovered, is located on the intersection of ancient caravan routes leading to Great, Merv and Serahs. After treatment and classification, the coins will be handed over to the museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan.
