President of Turkmenistan receives the Minister of Oil and Natural Resources of Pakistan

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Petroleum and Natural Resources of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mr. Jam Kamal Khan, who had arrived in the Turkmen capital to participate in a regular sitting of the Steering Committee on the project of Construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline.

Underlining the significance of the initiative on construction of the TAPI gas pipeline put forward by the Turkmen state that is widely supported by the Government and people of Pakistan, Mr. Jam Kamal Khan expressed belief that the high interest of all four countries participating in the project would promote establishment of the relevant documentary and legal foundation and endorsement of associated financial, commercial and technical issues.

Wishing success in the work of the Steering Committee, the Turkmen leader underlined the importance of this large-scale project that will contribute to the economic prosperity of the region, enhancing strong foundations of peace, stability and safety.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Turkmen leader and his guest exchanged the views on the other important issues of the Turkmen-Pakistani cooperation successfully developing for the benefit of the two countries and friendly peoples.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Turkmenistan Tasadduq Hussain attended the meeting.
