The Caspian seashore welcomed the participants of the IV International Festival of Gifted Children “Avaza – the Land of Friendship”, who had arrived in Turkmenbashi from Ashgabat on a special train.

The young talents representing different countries arrived in the capital of Turkmenistan on August 1 and stayed in the Nesil Children’s Recreation Centre in the picturesque Geokdere settlement, where Turkmen schoolchildren from all regions of the country spend their summer holidays. So the little guests had enough time to see landmarks of our white-marble capital.

Children visited an exhibition at the State Museum of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan. They visited the Children’s World shopping centre and the Alem cultural and entertainment centre.

From the railway station in Turkmenbashi, the young delegates of the children’s festival headed to the Avaza national tourist zone – a new etrap of the city of Turkmenbashi.

Ten comfortable buses decorated with colourful balloons and ribbons conveyed the children to the Arzuw Children’s Recreation Centre.

The International Children’s Festival in Avaza organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and Balkan Velayat Khyakimlik brings together over young talents from 12 countries. One of the main tasks of the festival is to promote the creative growth in young talents, foster friendship and cultural exchange among the representatives of various peoples.

At the same time, this large-scale cultural event aims at promoting the tourist brand of Avaza and supporting the Turkmen Caspian Coast as a new centre of the international life through the universal principles of the tolerance and diplomacy, as well as the cultural dialogue and aesthetic education among the younger generation.

To unite children in the name of light and good ideals is to unite the peoples in the name of peace and progress all over the world. That is the main goal and mission of the International Festival of Gifted Children “Avaza – the Land of Friendship” held under the patronage of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

This year, the artistic groups from the Russian Federation, the People’s Republic of China, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Russia, Armenia and Germany participate in the international forum of children’s creativity. The major part of the festival participants visits Turkmenistan for the first time. For some of them it is a symbolic visit. For example, “Zelta Sietins” dancing group from Latvia celebrates its 55th anniversary this year. This is the 50th festival for the group and the 70th country the group visits. For the artistic group representing the State House Girls High School in Nairobi, Kenya this is the first trip abroad.

Our country is represented by the most numerous team at the festival. Over 200 talented children from all regions of our country and the Turkmen capital, including popular artistic groups and amateur artists arrived in Turkmenbashi to participate in the children’s festival.
