President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Yyly Suv hydropathic establishment in Baharly Etrap in Ahal Velayat to see the conditions created in the health resort after reconstruction.
After the Turkmen leader inspected the new building of the Yyly Suv hydropathic establishment and the adjacent territory, he gave specific instructions to further promote such an important component of the health care system as the health resort sector.
The Turkmen leader had a cup of aromatic tea with herbal potions with his associates. He noted that herbal medicine is one of the important branches of medicine the history of which can be traced to ancient times. Many centuries ago people discovered the healing properties of herbs and used them to treat different diseases. The healers’ experience accumulated over many centuries and carefully passed from one generation to generation is enriched and widely applied in modern science and practice in our country today.
During the conversation the Turkmen leader, who devoted one of his fundamental research papers to medicinal herbs growing in our country, told those present about the amazing properties of various medicinal herbs. Doctor of Medicine Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who has devoted many years of his life to medical practice, told about the traditions of folk medicine and the unique experience of our ancestors who learnt to identify and use these properties. In this context the President noted that modern scientific advances allowed not only broadening the spectrum of action of medicinal herbs but also applying new kinds of medicinal plants in industry.
Touching upon significant progress made in the health care system, the Turkmen leader emphasized that innovative technologies adopted to protect the health of people involved not only state-of-the-art vehicles and equipment but also professional development of Turkmen doctors, adoption of advanced treatment method and study of best national and international practices in this sector, including the health resort sector.
The effective and efficient use of health resort and recreational resources and revival of Turkmen health resorts in their new capacity is an important task which had a direct impact on the condition and efficiency of the national health care system, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov placing particular emphasis on these issues.
The Turkmen leader noted that taking consistent steps to improve the people’s welfare we had created the conditions created at all sanatoria and health resorts throughout the country meeting international standards. The President said the construction of new sanatoria in the most beautiful regions of the Turkmen land vividly illustrated the success the policy of the Turkmen state the essence of which is reflected in the principles “a state for the people”.
