A meeting dedicated to the further improvement of the work of mass media and publishing service took place in the Centre of Free Art in Ashgabat. The heads of the leading newspapers and journals of the country, specialists of the editorial offices, the Printing Centre of Turkmenistan, representatives of the Galkynysh Book Centre, etc. attended the meeting.

The meeting participants focused on the outcomes of the official visit of President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Uzbekistan and the top level talks that have once again demonstrated the high level of the intergovernmental cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. It is very symbolic that the visit took place on the eve of the Day of Neighbourhood that embodies the real traditions of the Turkmen people, which have become known at the international level.

The meeting agenda also covered such issues as the work of mass media, and development of its activity within the intensive integration of Turkmenistan into the international news space. That is vividly proved by the Agreement on Cooperation and Exchange of Information between the State News Agency of Turkmenistan and the National News Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed by the leaders of the two states in Tashkent.
