The guest performance of the Galkynysh group of equestrian games of the Turkmen Atlary State Association and the group Turkmen Dzhigits of the State Circus of Turkmenistan in Ankara, the Republic of Turkey on December 13 -15 were a tremendous success.
As is known, President of the Republic of Turkey Abdullah Gul, who paid an official visit to Turkmenistan in May this year, invited the Galkynysh group to perform for the Turkish audience. During the visit the leader of the friendly country and the Turkmen leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the Ahalteke Horse Breeding Complex where the best Turkmen dzhigits from the renowned group demonstrated their brilliant horsemanship to the distinguished guests.
The Turkmen dzhigits gave five performances at the ASKI Sport Hall in the Turkish capital. The show was sold out for every performance – the spectators, who overcrowded the stands of the sports complex that accommodates 10,000 people, sincerely and enthusiastically greeted the Turkmen athletes and magnificent Ahalteke horses.
The Turkish media, including the national newspapers and television and radio channels – started to report about the upcoming show of the world-renowned Galkynysh group a week before, fueling the interest of the audience.
The Galkynysh group, who has won unconditional love of the Turkmen people, continues to conquer the foreign audience as illustrated by their tours in Ukraine and Belarus and their triumph at the World Circus Festival in Moscow (Russian Federation) in October this year. In Moscow, our talented artists, who made their debut at this prestigious forum, were rightfully awarded the Grand Prix and a ‘bouquet’ of special awards - from circus art experts, mass media and spectators. The Turkmen artists, having gained this impressive victory, received invitations to go on tour in different countries as well as an invitation to participate in the 15th Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival.
The performance of the Turkmen circus artists in Ankara was crowned with a raging success. The fact that President of Turkey Abdullah Gul attended the show testifies to the significance attached by the host country to the cultural action which is aimed at bringing the two peoples closer together.

The exciting performances of the Turkmen dzhigits dazzled with swiftness of the ‘royal’ horses and boldness of the Turkmen dzhigits who skillfully performed the riding tricks and received great ovations, giving the spectators no respite from the astonishment and admiration. The audience greeted with great enthusiasm the graceful girls riding the magnificent horses who were equal with men in agility and horsemanship.
The Turkmen riders surprised aroused admiration of the audience with their courage and amazing dexterity. The Turkish audience applauded the aerialists pirouetting under the dome of the Sport Hall, ‘jumpy’ acrobats and other artists of the State Circus of Turkmenistan.
