The International scientific conference "The Heritage of South-Eastern Turkmenistan in the System of the Ancient and Medieval Cultures of Eurasia" that gathered together scientists from different countries all around the world on the Turkmen land closed in the Avaza National tourist zone.
The representative forum dedicated to the study of the extensive period in the history of the Turkmen people became an authoritative platform for exchanging views, establishing fruitful international cooperation among the specialists in this sphere.
Over a hundred of reports dedicated to the International Cooperation on Preservation and Study of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of South-Eastern Turkmenistan in the Epoch of Might and Happiness, the Origins and History of South-Eastern Turkmenistan, the Development of the Ancient and Medieval Material and Spiritual Culture of South-Eastern Turkmenistan were presented within the framework of the three conference sessions.
The conference participants presented the results of their latest researches, and exchanged the views on the new scientific hypotheses. Those speaking during the forum highly appreciated the work of the archaeological expeditions, including Turkmen archeologists as well as their colleagues from the US, Russia, the UK, Poland, Italy and other countries on the territory of Turkmenistan. Large-scale projects are also implemented in the country jointly with the leading international and regional organizations, in particular the UNESCO and TICA . It was noted in particular that the new facts and material evidences discovered forced to reconsider the established views to the distant past of mankind. That vividly testifies to the high level of development of the early agricultural civilizations including Jeytun, Altyn-Depe, Anau, and others that existed on the territory of Turkmenistan. Particular attention was paid to the phenomenon of the Great Silk Road, which connected the East Asia with the Mediterranean world, the Iberian Peninsula and other regions of Eurasia since the II century BC .
The reports presented during the forum were also devoted to the relationship and the unity of the cultures of the multinational peoples of Eurasia, the high level of development of crafts, in particular jewelry, blacksmithing, glass making, weaving and carpet making, manufacturing felt mats as well as architecture, fine and decorative arts, sciences and education.
The participants of the roundtable meeting held within the framework of the conference discussed such issues as the preservation, study and popularization of the cultural heritage of South-Eastern Turkmenistan in the world.
