President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited a construction site in the historical centre of Ashgabat to see the progress in implementing the urban development programme in the Turkmen capital. The construction site of the new building for the Government of Turkmenistan is located between Bitarap Turkmenistan Avenue and Ch. Nurymov Street. This project is being implemented by the French company VINCI Construction Grands Projets in accordance with the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan. The new building is to be put into operation in December 2013.
Vice Premiers D. Orazov, H. Muhammedov, Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev, Minister of Communal Economy A. Yagshymammedov and Construction Manager of VINCI Construction Grands Projets Florian Bretaudeau greeted the Turkmen leader there. The Turkmen leader considered the draft exterior and interior designs and inspected progress of construction. The top manager of the French construction company reported that currently it was engaged in building the foundation of the Government building.
Underlining the special status of this building that was to blend well with the architectural ensemble of the city centre, the President gave the instructions to the relevant high-ranking officials to ensure that the construction work would meet international quality standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that the high-ranking officials take effective measures to promote the urban policy aimed at ensuring the high standards of living of Turkmen citizens and harmonious development of the main city of the country.
