The II International Festival “Theatre Arts of the Happy Epoch” closed in Ashgabat. The finale of the international arts forum was the festivities held at the Palace of Mukams of the State Cultural Centre of Turkmenistan.
As was reported, the large-scale forum brought together artists from 14 countries of the world, namely China, Russia, the United States, France, Germany, Turkey, Iran, Ethiopia, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Armenia and Tajikistan, in the hospitable Turkmen land.
The festival programme included the performances of 16 theatre companies. Turkmen art was presented by the major theatre companies of our country.
All the theatrical productions presented at the best theatre stages in the Turkmen capital were sold out for every performance. Our guests – an opera group from the People’s Republic of China and the Ethiopian National Theatre performed on the stage of Kemine State Drama Theatre in Mary Velayat.
Also, the theatre festival provided a platform for meetings between counterparts, who discussed modern trends in development of theatre art. The repertoire of the theatre festival included the works of the treasury of national and world’s classics, contemporary drama, music and puppet shows, performances in the language of dance and pantomime.
Participants in the II International Festival “Theatre Arts of the Happy Epoch” received diplomas and bright bouquets of flowers during the closing ceremony. The festival organizers presented our guests the souvenirs which would long remind them of the days they had spent in Turkmenistan.
