A gala concert of Turkmen and foreign artists that took place on the square of festivities in Dashoguz was the culmination of the Week of Culture-2014. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was the guest of honour at the concert.
The programme included ancient folk songs and dances in modern arrangement, colourful ritual performances, works of other folk genres - from soulful lullabies and lyrical love songs to humorous wedding recitatives and rhythms and ditties and the fragments from destans covered with heroic romance.
The motifs of bright performances of foreign popular artists from China, Turkey, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan fitted into the sparkling kaleidoscope of Turkmen musical culture.
After the concert the gorgeous fireworks saluted the triumph of creativity as the constructive energy of the world, where the life is founded on inspiration, talent and diligence of the peoples, their spirituality and aspiration to new heights.
