President of Turkmenistan makes working trip round Ashgabat

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip round the Turkmen capital to see the progress of construction and considered the new construction projects.

The Turkmen leader visited the construction site of the new building of the Berzengi sanatorium located at the foothills of the Kopetdag Mountains. The construction has entered the final stage. Currently, workers and specialists are engaged in installing state-of-the-art equipment and medical apparatuses produced by world’s leading manufacturers.

Vice Premiers D. Orazov, S. Toylyev, Minister of Health and Medical Industry G. Elyasov and Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev greeted the Turkmen leader on the construction site.

The President entered the building. He visited the spa treatment room to see the conditions created for patients and local medical personnel and get acquainted with the balneotherapeutic treatment and rehabilitation programmes to be used by the local personnel.

The Turkmen leader visited a number of the departments of the new sanatorium and asked about the work to be carried and equipment to be used there. The President visited the hydrotherapy room and asked about the treatment methods which have a profound health improving and rehabilitating effect and recommended using them to prevent a number of diseases. In this context the President noted that the Government would take further measures to develop resort infrastructure and said the high-ranking officials must ensure that the sanatorium would render medical services in compliance with international standards.

Then the President visited the mud therapy and physiotherapy rooms where state-of-the-art equipment was installed.

The Turkmen leader noted that fresh mountain air, the favourable conditions created by nature and the healing properties of the Berzengi mineral spring are harmoniously supplemented by high technologies and scientific advances, preventive, therapeutic and recreation medicine – all this are the factors that contribute to improving the health at the sanatorium.

The Turkmen leader visited the herbal tea room where state-of-the-art equipment was installed. Local specialists use the fundamental research work by President of Turkmenistan, Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, Doctor of Medicine Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in their professional activity.

Noting that phitotherapy plays the important role in developing the national health care system, the President emphasized that our ancestors used this method in ancient time for recreation, good mood and invigoration. In ancient time they discovered the healing properties of the plants growing in the territory of our country and used them to treat many diseases. The traditions of folk medicine developed and enriched over many centuries and passed on from one generation to another remain critical for the improvement of resort medicine nowadays, said the Turkmen leader.

The President talked to local specialists over a cup of tea with fragrant medicinal herbs of Turkmen nature. The Turkmen leader dwelt upon the approaches to developing resort infrastructure in the country and broadening a range of medical services rendered to citizens emphasizing that the concern for the people’s health and welfare as the essence of the large-scale work carried out in this sphere. The Turkmen leader instructed the high-ranking officials to take all necessary measures for completing the Berzengi sanatorium project in a timely and properly manner and putting it into operation during the National Flag celebrations.

The Turkmen leader suggested building additional facilities in the territory adjacent to the sanatorium building for those willing to visit the Berzengi healing mineral spring all year round.

Upon concluding the meeting, the Turkmen leader wished the local personnel every success in their important activity to protect people’s health and bade farewell to all those present.

Then the President visited the locality where the construction of another important facility – an aerial tramway – would start soon in the south of the Turkmen capital.

The Turkmen leader visited the future construction site located on one of the sections of the Ashgabat-Geoktepe highway.

Talking to the high-ranking officials, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov provided specific proposals and recommendations on the construction of an aerial tramway in this locality so that citizens and guests of Ashgabat could make journeys to the TV tower and farther to the ridges of the Kopetdag Mountains enjoying picturesque landscapes and views of the dynamically developing main city of the country.

Several draft projects of this facility were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration there. The President thoroughly considered and introduced some changes to the draft projects. Noting that a recreation area where citizens and guests of the Turkmen capital could spend their leisure time should be created there, the Turkmen leader approved the projects and instructed to hold the international tender.
