Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand accredited to Turkmenistan

On the instructions of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan A. Nurberdieva received credentials from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand (Ankara-based residence), Mr. Rathakit Manathat.

On behalf of the President of Turkmenistan the Chairperson of the Parliament congratulated the diplomat on the appointment and wished him every success in strengthening the ties of friendship and cooperation between Turkmenistan and Thailand.

Thanking for the kind words, the plenipotentiary representative of the friendly country expressed best wishes to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the people of Turkmenistan on behalf of the leadership and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand.

The diplomat underlined that he considered it a great honour to represent his country in Turkmenistan whose peace-loving policy and constructive initiatives had won the international prestige and assured that he would apply every effort to promote an effective dialogue between the two friendly nations. Expressing sincere admiration of modern achievements of the Turkmen state, Mr. Rathakit Manathat said with satisfaction that these achievements were of the pure humanitarian nature and served the fundamental interests of Turkmen citizens.

Underlining the importance of establishing firm and mutually beneficial bilateral relations, the Ambassador emphasized that despite their geographical remoteness, the two peoples shared the aspiration for peace and friendship which would certainly lay a firm foundation for fruitful intergovernmental cooperation.

During the meeting the diplomat was briefed on the progress in implementing the large-scale social and economic reforms launched throughout the country on the initiative of President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov so as to achieve the ultimate goal of the independent Turkmen state – the welfare of its citizens.

The fuel and energy, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian and many other spheres were mentioned as priority fields of bilateral partnership. Particular attention was paid to the approaches to promoting inter-parliamentary contacts. The distinguished guest was also informed of the structure of Turkmen Parliament, its law-making activities and practices of establishing international contacts.

The delegation led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand, Mr. Rathakit Manathat was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The guests held the meetings at the Ministry of Oil and Gas Industry and Mineral Resources and the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Management and Use under the President of Turkmenistan.

The diplomat and the members of the delegation of the Kingdom of Thailand visited landmarks of Ashgabat and its vicinities.
