Days of Culture of the United States of America in Turkmenistan were opened in Ashgabat at Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center.
Deputy assistant of the US State Secretary for South and Central Asia Aileen O’Connor made a welcoming speech. It was held a concert, which program included the performances of “Mahogany Jones” hip-hop group and “Company E” dance group as well as the Turkmen folk groups “Galkynysh”, “Serpay”, “Lachin” and “Miras”.
Tomorrow, the exhibition of the American and Turkmen artists “Spirit of two deserts” was opened in the capital’s Fine Arts Museum. It is represented by artist from New Mexico Diana Stetson. Demonstration of the American movies has started in “Ashgabat” film art center.
Within the framework of the action, joint concerts of “Company E” and “Ashgabat” groups as well as group of the Turkmen National Conservatoire will take place in “Turkmenistan” cinema and concert hall. The American artists will perform a concert program on November 22 for the pupils of “Dovletliler koshgi”.
American specialists will met with the Turkmen colleagues and hold the trainings in a series of educational establishments of the capital. Creative groups of the friendly country will also perform the concerts in Lebap and Dashoguz provinces. The Days will be completed with joint concert of friendship to be held on the stage of Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan on November 24.
