Festive programme to mark Flag Day

The museums throughout the country arranged the thematic exhibitions entitled “Let my proud Flag fly in heights!” dedicated to the National Flag Day.

The works by famous Turkmen artists and sculptors are displayed at the Museum of Fine Arts, an exposition of the works on the history, rich cultural traditions and outstanding achievements of the Turkmen people is arranged at the Main National Museum, the works created by teachers and students of the arts institution dedicated to the achievements of the epoch of progressive reforms are presented at the Exhibition Hall of the State Academy of Arts. The President’s Museum of the National Cultural Centre and the Exhibition Centre of the Ministry of Culture have picked up the baton of the marathon of the festivities.

The conferences dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the National Flag of Turkmenistan that symbolizes the good will, peacefulness and humanism of the Turkmen nation were held at higher educational institutions throughout the country.

The versatile programme of sporting events is dedicated to the national holiday. The National Checkers Championships started at sports school 1 in Turkmenabat and the National Boxing Championship started at the Galkynysh sports complex in Ashgabat. The National Football Junior Championships will start at the Kopetdag sports complex in Ashgabat on February 5, the National Karate Championships at the Galkynys sports complex on February 7 and the National Taekwondo Cup will start on February 13 and take place at secondary school 1 in Ashgabat and the National Basketball Championship will be held at the Ylham Palace in Mary. Junior athletes will participate in the Greco-Roman and Freestyle wrestling competitions which will take place at the Palvan sports complex.

The festivities and meetings will be arranged at the Parahat cultural and entertaining centre and the Altyn Yyldyz cultural and entertaining centre, the Watan Cinema and Concert Centre and the Turkmenistan Cinema and Concert Centre, the Ylham Alley, the National Library of the National Cultural Centre, the Winter Sports Complex, the State Circus and theatres where theatrical performances will be presented.

The awarding ceremony of the contest among photojournalists and amateur photographers entitled “Our Flag proudly flies in the world” will take place at the Museum of Fine Arts. The ceremony of awarding the winners of the patriotic movement “Our contribution to social and economic development of Turkmenistan” will be held at the Turkmenistan Cinema and Concert Centre.

Thematic conferences will be held throughout the country on the eve of the holiday. Conference participants will present the reports on major events in the modern history of our country that illustrated dynamic development of the Turkmen state and society.

The venue for the National Flag Day celebrations will be the Ashgabat sports complex where a bright show will take place on February 19. Famous workers of culture and art from all over Turkmenistan will present theatrical performances.

Popular artists will perform the concerts on the square in front of the Main Flag of Turkmenistan and on the concert stages in Ahal, Balkan, Mary, Lebap and Dashoguz Velayats.
