President of Turkmenistan makes working trip round Ashgabat
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip round the Turkmen capital to see the progress in implementing the urban development programme and construction projects of social facilities.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov headed to 10 Yyl Abadancylyk Street where several high-rise apartment houses had sprung up recently. The Turkmen leader visited one of these houses, the construction of which had entered the final phase, to see the furniture and equipment in the apartments. Also, the Turkmen leader paid particular attention to the quality of construction and finishing works. The President noted that the layout of new apartments ignored the national features characteristic of the Turkmen nation and emphasized that construction projects must be selected more thoroughly and Turkmen architects should be more actively involved in the design and construction of apartment houses.
The Turkmen leader visited one of the apartments to see the living conditions of its dwellers. There the President pointed out a number of shortcomings and defects. The President emphasized that the quality of works didn’t comply with the strict requirements set in our country to construction projects of social facilities in particular.
In this regard the President reprimanded Vice Premier D. Orazov and Ashgabat Khyakim Sh. Durdylyev and demanded that they eliminate the shortfalls and take immediate measures to avoid them in the future.
In this context the Turkmen leader gave the instructions to the Ashgabat Khyakim regarding the requirements to be met while developing the housing projects. Also, the President noted that designers and architects should pay considerable attention to the lighting for apartments.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the colour of kitchen furniture that was too dark and noted that the conditions should be created in this part of an apartment which would consistent with the traditions of hospitality of our people and the specifics of the national cuisine.
Demanding that the comfort conditions must be created for citizens of Turkmenistan, who work in various sectors of the national economy, in high-rise apartment houses the Turkmen leader said a house-warming party was one of the most pleasant and memorable event in life of everyone. The layout and design of apartments, colour of furniture and household appliances should reflect the national specifics, said the President. Apartment houses must be comfortable to live in and equipped with modern household appliances, emphasized that Turkmen leader noting that apartments should be furnished in the spirit of the national traditions and customs of the Turkmen people.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the conditions created at sports ground built in the neighbourhood. The Turkmen leader focused on the need to create necessary infrastructure there so that citizens could carry out leisure time and sports activities there. This will help to involve as many citizens as possible in doing sports and living a healthy lifestyle.
Summing up the aforesaid, the Turkmen leader demanded that the shortfalls and defects be eliminated as soon as possible and emphasized that apartment houses and other buildings and facilities under construction throughout the country must be put into operation only after they were ready for immediate use and meet quality standards.
The President considered a number of urban construction and development projects to be implemented in the Turkmen capital. Also, the Turkmen leader considered the layout of construction sites of high-rise apartment buildings with modern conveniences and two parks to be built in Ashgabat. Noting that these houses must be comfortable to live in, the Turkmen leader gave specific instructions to the relevant high-ranking officials in this regard.
Commenting on the proposals for the names of new shopping centres built along this avenue, the Turkmen leader approved some of them noting that the names of shopping centres should correspond to their specialization.

Therefore, all the work must meet strict requirements and highest quality standards, emphasized the President.
