Final round of the contest “Lale bairamy” was held in Ashgabat. This beautiful folklore holiday organized by the Women’s Union return us to the sources of the national musical culture, to those spiritual and moral values, which brought up many generations of the Turkmen women.
Nearly hundred participants took part in the contest. These are six best amateur groups from all regions of the country and capital – the winners of vilayet round. Every folk group brought their best musical compositions. By the terms of review, they represented the unwritten literature of a people (lale from destans, epics); lullaby lale; songs to the verses of modern Turkmen poets and composers.
Folk groups appeared on the stage one by one, and each of musical compositions presented by them on the motif of epics, destans and folklore made the audience to be immersed into the world national folk culture.
Each of numbers was exciting, interesting and gladdened the spectators with its versatility, beauty of poetic forms and content of songs. When long-waited and culminating moment of the contest – summing up and awarding has come, the audience burst out with applauses! Jury awarded “Grand Prize” to folk group from Mary province. The first place was gained by group from Lebap, the second – Ahal and the third – Balkan provinces.
