President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a meeting at which he appointed the members of the new Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan.
The appointment of the high-ranking officials in charge of the cultural sphere was put on the meeting agenda. The Turkmen leader noted that the state policy in the cultural sphere was viewed as an essential condition of sustainable development of the country to promote this policy will be a major objective of the new cabinet of Ministers. These objectives include propagate widely the national cultural values among citizens, enhance the spiritual and moral potential of an individual and strengthen the role of culture in promoting the ongoing social and economic reforms.
The Turkmen leader said it was important that Turkmenistan whose fame is growing worldwide should be known not only as the country with the great economic opportunities but also as the country with the tremendous spiritual and creative potential. Specifying the priority tasks to be fulfilled in this sphere, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that an awesome responsibility was assigned to the new Cabinet of Ministers.
Noting that the major criteria for appointing high-ranking officials included the managerial abilities, knowledge and experience as well as the desire to wholeheartedly perform their official duties, the Turkmen leader appointed the new high-ranking officials in charge of the cultural sphere.
Expressing gratitude to Maysa Yazmuhammedova for her long-term activity and contribution to developing the cultural sphere, the Turkmen leader said her experience and knowledge would be of great use in the other sphere.
The President appointed Byagul Nurmyradova Vice Premier in charge of the cultural sphere and expressed belief that her profound work experience in this sphere would help to cope with the tasks assigned.
The President appointed Guncha Mammedova Minister of Culture and instructed to present the worthy candidate for the position of Deputy Minister of Culture.
The President appointed Gyzylgul Nurgeldieva Chairperson of the Turkmen State Publishing Service.
Bekdurdy Amansaryev was appointed Chairman of the State News Agency.
Shadurdy Alovov was appointed Chairman of the State Committee for Television, Radio and Cinematography.
Signing the documents on the adopted decisions and focusing on the importance of promoting Turkmenistan’s integration in the international cultural and cyber space, enhancing humanitarian cooperation with different countries, the Turkmen leader instructed the newly appointed high-ranking officials to identify the most promising fields of activity in this sphere and elaborate the effective strategy and mechanisms for promoting the national culture.
Our nation has the rich cultural heritage, and the high-ranking officials will have to make much effort to ensure that the work on promotion of the national culture is carried out properly and effectively, said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov focusing on the tasks assigned to this sphere. The fulfillment of these tasks will facilitate optimizing the activity of cultural institutions and the mass media.
Calling upon the newly appointed high-ranking officials to ensure that the activity in the spheres under their supervision would be carried out properly and effectively, the President wished them every success in fulfilling the assigned tasks.

The President appointed Sapardurdy Toylyev Vice Premier in charge of the spheres of science, education, health care, sport and tourism and Chairman of the Emergency Commission responsible for preventing the spread of diseases.
Gulshat Mammedova was appointed Minister of Education.
Gurbanmammet Elyasov was appointed Minister of Health and Medical Industry.
Ferhat Arjanov was appointed Chairman of the State Committee for Sport and Tourism.
Maya Mollaeva was appointed Chairperson of the Main Archives.
The Turkmen leader signed the Decrees on the above-mentioned appointments and instructed the newly appointed high-ranking officials to ensure that the ministries and departments under their supervision would work properly and effectively.
The aim of the ongoing reforms in the spheres of science and education, health care, sport and tourism as well was to create the conditions conducive to revealing the creative, intellectual potential of the nation and bringing the country to the innovative path of development, continued the President.
