President of Turkmenistan receives the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of France

President of Turkmenistan received Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of France Pierre Lellouche, who arrived in the Turkmen capital leading the representative delegation.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity of a personal meeting, the guest conveyed the hearty congratulations on the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and best wishes on behalf of President of France Nicolas Sarkozy, who expressed keen interest in the progress of the Turkmen-French dialogue. Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of France Pierre Lellouche congratulated the President of Turkmenistan on the re-election for a second term underlining that the convincing victory at the presidential election had become another evidence of the Turkmen people’s trust and love for their leader.

Greeting the guest, the Turkmen leader expressed the best wishes to the leadership of the friendly country noting with satisfaction that within the last years Turkmen-French relations had achieved the high level in all spheres.

Exchanging their views on the status and prospects for traditional cooperation, President of Turkmenistan and his guest confirmed the particular significance the both countries paid to developing the trading and economic relations demonstrating the mutual readiness for long-term partnership based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit.

According to Mr. Pierre Lellouche, dynamically developing Turkmenistan that possesses huge resources and economic potential arouses significant interests among businessmen in France due to the favorable investment climate created in Turkmenistan and reliable legislative basis that open up vast opportunities for implementation of various projects.

Welcoming the interests of French partners, President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the necessity of further enhancement of cooperation, the key aspect of which was the increase of the trading turnover between the two countries and steadily widening nomenclature of export-import products.

In conclusion the President of Turkmenistan and the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade of France expressed belief that efficient intergovernmental cooperation would successfully develop reaffirming the both countries adherence to fostering the ties of friendship.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Turkmenistan Mr. Pierre Lebovics took part in the meeting.
