President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting agenda focused on the current tasks and the state policy issues.
Director of the State Agency for Hydrocarbon Resources Management and Use under the President of Turkmenistan Ya. Kakaev reported on that industrial gas discharge was received at the results of drilling of a new exploratory well at the Shiringuyy geological structure in Hodjambaz Etrap, Lebap Velayat on the Bagtyyarlyk contractual territory. According to the preliminary estimate the daily well production rate makes up 1.5 million cubic meters of ‘blue fuel’. The Shiringuyy geological structure is a part of the Bagtyyarlyk contractual territory explored jointly with the Chinese National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
Vice Premiers reported on the existing situation in the sectors under their supervision. In particular, it was reported on the work on improvement of the national legislation, implementation of the national foreign-policy strategy, including the forthcoming visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Ukraine scheduled for the next week, the events of the cultural life of the country, situation in the organizations of financial and economic block and banking institutions of the country, modernization of the establishments affiliated to the Ministry of Labor and Social Defense of the Population. The issues related to the agrarian sector, including the forthcoming cotton sowing campaign and the planting campaign as well as ongoing lambing campaign were discussed during the meeting. The reports on the measures for further implementation of the state social policy and national programmes on developing science, education, healthcare, sports and tourism were presented during the meeting.
The Vice Premiers reported on the progress achieved in the construction and power industries, on the work in the spheres of transport and communications, the forthcoming exhibitions and development of entrepreneurship and the situation in the oil and gas sector, chemical and fishing industries.
Commenting on the reports, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to improve the work in the spheres of foreign policy, financial sector, industry, agriculture, culture and social spheres and gave a number of instructions. The Turkmen leader signed the Resolution on regulation of free distribution of motor petrol and diesel fuel among car and motorcycle owners; the Resolution to establish the President’s grant to students of higher and secondary professional educational institutions starting from April 1 as well as other important documents.
The other state policy issues were considered, and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
