President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a working trip round the Turkmen capital to see the progress in implementing the urban development programme and construction projects of social facilities, including the projects on development of the southern part of the city, where a new administrative, business and cultural center will be opened. Among the objects under construction is a Culture and Recreation Center that will play a particular role in the cultural life of the Turkmen capital and the country as well.

The Turkmen leader emphasized that the Culture and Recreation Center under construction in Ashgabat, as well as similar objects erected in the regions of the country, should not only embody the creative spirit of the epoch of progress and innovations that was called the epoch of power and happiness, but the prosperity of the Turkmen people and their aspiration for high goal as well. The President of Turkmenistan said that the new facility should also become the center to conduct the large-scale cultural and educational work. In this context, the President underlined the necessity of paying particular attention to design of this object and internal premises and supply it with modern equipment. “It should reflect the national character and the special symbolic significance of the complex”, continued Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The Culture and Recreation Center will host a game room and cafe. The President got acquainted with modern equipment supplied to the bowling hall.
Walking down to the ground floor, the Turkmen leader visited cinema designed for watching movies with the most modern methods, game rooms for children and adults. A film was demonstrated to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the 12D cinema. There is another cinema with a screen resembling the celestial dome. The head of the state got acquainted with the technical and specific characteristics of both the both cinemas.
There is a special facility with advanced equipment for studying the Solar System in the Center. With the help of special units, each visitor will be able to observe the movement of the planets and their satellites around the Sun as well as to receive detailed information in this sphere.
Observing the facilities, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed the specifics for equipping the new premises with the relevant officials and underlined the necessity of using the most advanced technical equipment. In particular, the President of Turkmenistan noted that conditions created in the Center would allow young people to comprehend the mysteries of outer space.
Then the Turkmen leader walked up to the top floor that hosts a restaurant, above which a giant Ferris wheel with 24 six-place cabins is installed. The Ferris wheel will rotate around its axis in a circle with 60 meters in diameter. Special equipment will maintain the comfortable temperature in the cabins.
Continuing the tour around the Center, the head of Turkmen state noted that particular attention should be paid to equipping the Culture and Recreation Center. The Turkmen leader noted that concern about people, including youth, creation of optimal urban environment with modern infrastructure, favorable, and comfortable conditions for life, work and rest of the Turkmen people, were the most important aspects of the urban policy implemented in our country.
Then, in the foyer of the Centre, the Turkmen leader got acquainted with the drafts of objects under construction and new projects to be constructed by the Polimeks Turkish Company. A video film presenting an architectural project on construction of the international airport in Ashgabat was demonstrated to the Turkmen leader. Then, the head of the Polimeks Company presented the projects of a number of new objects to the President of Turkmenistan and reported on the existing situation in the construction sites.
The project of the complex of buildings of the Ashgabat International Airport, including a modern passenger terminal, control tower and landing portals was presented during the meeting. The head of the Turkish Construction Company also demonstrated the projects of the Galkynysh conference room and game rooms to be opened in the Olympic village under construction, and children's health-improving center, as well as the objects under construction in the Avaza National tourism zone.
Getting acquainted with the projects, the President of Turkmenistan underlined that the key requirements to all facilities constructed in the country included high quality of works and keeping the terms of their performance. Stressing that design of facades and interiors of buildings under construction should harmoniously combine modern architectural and engineering ideas with the best traditions of the national architecture, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov made a number of comments and suggestions and amended the presented projects.
