President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of the Commerzbank AG Martin Blessing.
During the meeting held in a friendly atmosphere, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of the second largest credit institution in Germany discussed the urgent issues of cooperation between the Commerzbank and Turkmen banks as well as the prospects for further cooperation given the implementation of the new projects and large-scale reformatory programmes initiated by the Turkmen leader with the aim to ensure the further social and economic progress of the country.
In particular, the President of Turkmenistan and the Chairman of the Board of Managing Directors of the Commerzbank AG discussed the opportunity for concluding a Framework agreement between the Commerzbank AG and the Central Bank of Turkmenistan to promote the further developing of the banking system in Turkmenistan as well as investing development of the oil and gas, transport and infrastructure spheres, in particular construction of a shipyard in the sea port in Turkmenbashi.
Besides the economic projects aimed at further enhancing of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Europe, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guest discussed the issues of developing the sports movement in Turkmenistan and, in particular, equestrian sport that arouses keen interest in the world due to the world glory of Turkmen Ahalteke horses, one of the best horses in the world.
