On March 21 and 22, the friendly and solidary people of Turkmenistan celebrate the National holiday of spring – Nowruz Bayramy. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the people of independent neutral Turkmenistan on this wonderful holiday of spring.
“I heartily congratulate you on the National holiday of spring that came to the blessed Turkmen land in the time of spring awakening, when a desert is colored with scarlet poppies and tulips, field flowers swaying on the wind as if sea waves, when mountains and valleys are covered with green carpet, and wonderful dreams revive in the people’s souls – light holiday of spring, happiness and joy! I am sure that these festive events on occasion of the National holiday of spring as a symbol of the beauty of nature and people’s soul will unite our courageous people in achieving the high goals and inspire the people of Turkmenistan for selfless and constructive labour in the name of the great future of our Fatherland,” said President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in his congratulatory address to the people of independent Turkmenistan.
“Nowruz is one of the ancient holidays that lives in the souls and memory of many peoples, including Turkmens for many centuries. Nowadays, this light holiday of beauty and inspired life has turned into an international holiday that make the peoples closer to each other demonstrating the triumph of high principles of humanity and diligence, calling upon for friendship and benevolence all over the world,” said the Turkmen leader. “In order to immortalize the place of Nowruz Bayramy in the treasure house of the world culture, to preserve the diversity of cultures of the people all around the world and popularize its human values throughout the planet, Nowruz Bayramy was officially registered on the UNESCO List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on September 30, 2009 with the support of 24 states. Due to cooperation between and on suggestion of Turkmenistan, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Iran Tajikistan, in February, 2010, the 64th session of the UN's General Assembly adopted the Resolution recognizing the International Day of Nowruz. In accordance with the Resolution, Nowruz Bayramy is widely celebrated as a holiday fostering peaceful relations between the peoples and promoting the historical and cultural traditions of the peoples of the East”.
“We are immeasurably proud of that today Nowruz Bayramy absorbing the centuries-old noble traditions has become an international holiday appealing the peoples to peaceful coexistence. We are very happy that the value of this holiday has significantly increased as an integral part of the world culture uniting the peoples and making them closer to each other,” underlined the President of Turkmenistan in his address.
“The happy epoch of the strong state will be filled with golden pages of the history of development of the generous Turkmen land with its mountains and plains, the desert and sea, full-following rivers, and the land that keeps countless riches in its depths.
