President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces General of the Army Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the State Sectary Council which was held in the conference hall of the Main Civil Defence and Rescue Operations Department of the Ministry of Defence of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat. The agendas focused on a number of issues regarding the further improvement of work of the military and law enforcement agencies and consolidation of the material and technical basis of the national Armed Forces of Turkmenistan.
Opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader underlined that Turkmenistan steadily implemented the peace-building foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan that was vividly proved by constructive initiatives put forward by our country. Following the principles of the national Military Doctrine of Turkmenistan, which is purely defensive in nature, in order to increase the efficiency of work of military agencies, our state pays significant attention to modernizing their material and technical basis and improving the infrastructure of military towns and frontier posts. Along with it, the complex of measures aimed at increasing the level and quality of life, creating necessary conditions for full-fledged labor, the everyday life and rest of defenders of our Motherland and strengthening the social security of servicemen and members of their families, is taken place in our country.
Underlining the crucial significance of training highly-qualified personnel for the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and law enforcement agencies, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded that unremitting attention be paid to such a crucial issue as the selection of qualified and competent personnel. The President of Turkmenistan emphasized that honest, well-educated people devoted to their Motherland and nation must work for these structures. The Turkmen leader focused once again on the need to improve training activities, promote professional development and carry out educational work with the personnel of these structures on a regular basis.
Then the floor was given to Minister of Defence B. Gundogdyev , who reported on the existing situation at institutions and structures under his supervision, and the measures taken to strengthen and modernize the material and technical base of the Armed Forces with the most advanced equipment. On behalf of the meeting participants, the Minister of Defence assured the Turkmen leader that Turkmen military servants would serve the Motherland faithfully, and stand on guard of sacred independence and sovereignty of the Turkmen state, peace of the native land, its unity and cohesion.
Summing up the meeting, the Turkmen leader underlined the necessity of close coordination of all structures engaged in the important and large-scale work for strengthening the foundation of the peaceful and creative life of the Turkmen people going forward along the way of progress and prosperity. In this context, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the important role assigned to military agencies to ensure all necessary conditions for successful implementation of all plans aimed at comprehensive development of the country and the necessity to serve the Motherland and the Turkmen people honestly perceiving their high duty.
