President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. The drafts of important documents and priority state policy issues were considered during the meeting.

Before opening the meeting, the Turkmen leader congratulated those present and citizens of Turkmenistan on the “A Drop of Water – A Grain of Gold” holiday widely celebrated on the first Sunday of April.

Then the President presented the meeting agenda and gave the floor to Vice Premier, Executive Secretary of the President’s Office H. Muhammedov.

Reporting on the work carried out in the public administration sector and the fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions, Vice Premier reported on the progress in drafting the Resolution on the regulation of job responsibilities of the Vice Premier in charge of the science, education, healthcare, sports, tourism and public issues.

Signing the document, the President of Turkmenistan demanded that rigorous control be kept of the organization support to the work of civil services.

Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdyeva reported on the work carried out by the national Parliament to update the regulatory framework in line with the priorities of the state policy and given new tasks. The Chairperson of the Mejlis also informed on the preparations for the 14th session of the Mejlis of the fourth convocation to be held on March 31.

Vice Premier, Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov reported on the measures taken to promote the foreign policy strategy of the Turkmen state based on the principles of positive neutrality and fruitful cooperation in the name of universal prosperity and progress. In this context the Vice Premier Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on the outcome of the working trip taken on the Turkmen leader’s instructions to US where the Turkmen delegation had participated in the Turkmen-American political consultations.

Commenting on the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted that Turkmenistan paid significant attention to developing traditionally friendly relations with the United States of America and underlined the huge potential for intensification of fruitful intergovernmental cooperation built on the equal, mutually beneficial long-term basis.

Then Vice Premier B. Nurmyradova reported on the preparations for the celebrations to mark the national holidays “Drop of Water - Grain of Gold”, the World Health Day and the Turkmen Horse Day.

The Vice Premier also reported on the preparations for the Days of Culture of the Republic of Belarus in Turkmenistan on April 4-6 and the International festival entitled “Theater art of the happy epoch” scheduled for April 13-15.

Vice Premier A. Gochyev reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision. In particular, the Vice Premier reported on the outcomes of the 53d sitting of the CIS Economic Council held in Moscow on March 19-20.

The Vice Premier also reported on the issues regarding guaranteeing the legal protection to the scientific and selective achievements in the sphere of plant growing, cattle breeding and horse breeding. He also suggested drafting the regulatory acts in this sphere in line with the Law of Turkmenistan “On legal protection of selection achievements”.

Underlining that development of these documents would promote breeding new high-yield seed varieties and animal species, the Turkmen leader approved the proposals and signed the relevant documents.

Then Viece Premier A. Yazmyradov reported on the progress of agricultural works.

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the heads of the agro-industrial complex to ensure all necessary conditions to conduct the cotton sowing campaign within optimal terms.

Then the floor was given to Vice Premier S. Toyliev, who reported on the progress of drafting projects of a number of documents.

Signing the relevant documents, the President of Turkmenistan focused on the preparations for the Week of Health and Happiness to be held throughout the country on April 2-8. The Turkmen leader noted that all ministries and departments, organisations and enterprises should organize daily exercises with participation of all employees with the exception of those engaged in the nonstop production.

Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers A. Egeleev reported on the course of construction works carried out in the country, including the measures taken on construction of drain channel in Ashgabat and children’s healthcare center in designed for 300 children Gekdere.

The President of Turkmenistan signed the Resolutions “On construction of drain channel in Ashgabat” and “On children’s healthcare center designed for 300 children in Gekdere, Ruhabat Etrap, Ahal Velayat”.

Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan N. Atagulyev reported on the progress in implementing the state programmes of development in the sector under his supervision and the measures to be taken with the aim to increase the export and investment potential of the country.

N. Atagulyev also reported on the preparations for the national exposition in Korea on May 12 – August 12, 2012.

Vice Premier B. Hojamuhammedov reported on the work done in the sector under his supervision and informed the President of Turkmenistan on the outcomes of working trip taken on the Turkmen leader’s instructions to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Vice Premier R. Seyitkuliev reported on the existing situation in the sectors under his supervision and the fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions on modernization of the Turkmenbashi seaport.

Underlining the importance of the transport sphere in the sustainable development of the national economy, the President of Turkmenistan emphasized the increasing role of sea shipping and carriage on inland waterways in the country as well as in the context of dynamic development of international transport routes. In this regard, the Turkmen leader instructed the Vice Premier to take effective steps to modernize the existing sea fleet.

The other important state policy issues were considered, and the decisions were adopted during the government meeting. Upon concluding the government meeting, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished good health and new accomplishments in their activity for the benefit and happy life of the Turkmen people to the meeting participants.
