The unifying power of art: choirs of Central Asian countries held a joint concert

On May 10, a concert of choirs from five countries of Central Asia was held at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan. Through online broadcasting, the cultural platform of our country brought together artists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

The event, organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, was timed to coincide with the Inter-Parliamentary Forum of Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation in Ashgabat. The grand opening of the forum is scheduled for May 12. It will also include a dialogue between women from Central Asia and Russia.

The program of the friendly concert was opened by the performance of the State Choir of Turkmenistan, which performed the Turkmen folk song "Ýarowjan".

In continuation of the musical and creative dialogue, Turkmen artists with great enthusiasm sang folk songs of the countries of Central Asia - Kazakh "Kamažaý", "Karatorgaý", Kyrgyz "Komuzçy", "Süýgönem çyksa bolboýlu", Uzbek "Nomanganing olmasi", "Kylpyllama" and a Tajik song Muhabbat.

The choirs of the fraternal peoples of our country prepared equally bright musical numbers. The chamber choir of the State Opera and Ballet Theater "Astana Opera" of the Republic of Kazakhstan performed the folk song "Bibijan" in the Turkmen language. Sincere greetings from sunny Kyrgyzstan were conveyed by the artists of the State Chamber Choir, performing with the patriotic song "Atamekan". Artists of the Tajik State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Sadriddin Aini sang the Turkmen song "Noý-noý".

Noting the rich worldview and deep cultural roots of the Turkmens, the artistic director of the choir of the Uzbek State Philharmonic named after K. Yakubov Gulnora Malikova said that their creative team really wanted to learn the Turkmen song “Nar agajy”. The performance of this composition at the concert was a pleasant gift for the people of Turkmenistan.

The final number of the warm meeting was the song "Dutaryň owazy". Mutual interest in the diversity of national music and folklore of neighboring countries has served to strengthen friendly and fraternal ties between the peoples of the Central Asian region for many years. Expressing boundless gratitude to the heads of states of Central Asia, the artists thanked for the opportunity to get in touch with the cultural heritage of friendly Turkmenistan.
