Every year in early October, the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kuliyeva celebrates International Music Day with a festive concert. This time, the Chamber Ensemble Department took on the responsibility of organizing it. The event gained widespread city-wide attention, resulting in a full house at the Conservatory's Grand Hall.
Following tradition, the concert program began with a Turkmen folk piece performed on the dutar. Dutar player Osman Gujimov, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, performed the inspiring Turkmen folk melody "Burn-ashak." Throughout the concert, several poignant poems about music were recited from the stage, adding to the evening's festive atmosphere. People’s and Honored Artists, along with international competition laureates, performed the best works of world classical music.
Violinist Aybolek Mukhyeva captivated the audience with her performance of Pablo de Sarasate's famous piece "Gypsy Airs." Vladimir Mkrtumov skillfully played Intermezzo by German composer Johannes Brahms.
The concert concluded with a Turkmen piece—Nury Mukhatov's song "Gel Turkmenistan," performed by all concert participants. The accompanists were international competition laureates Stella Faramazova, Maya Beymanova and Merjen Amanova. The concert provided great aesthetic pleasure to music lovers.
