The Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fourth convocation held its fourteenth session. The agenda focused on a number of new draft laws and statutory and legal acts drafted. The heads of ministries and departments, including law-enforcement agencies, as well as journalists were invited to attend the session.
In this session the parliamentarians considered draft Law “On election of Halk Maslakhaty and Gengesh members”. It was noted that the law drafted within the framework of improvement of the national election system, was of particular importance for the preparations for the forthcoming election of Gengesh members to be held in Turkmenistan in August of the current year.
The draft laws “On statistics”, “On protected natural areas”, “On state retirement insurance”, “On share construction of apartment houses and other real estate” were considered in this session.
The important documents under discussion included the draft laws “On treatment of alcohol-, drug- or psychotropic agent- dependent persons”, “On traffic safety”, “On migration” as well as the amendments to the Code of Criminal Procedure”, the laws “On military duty and military service”, “On the status and social defense of servicemen and members of their families”, “O n the State Service of Turkmenistan for Drugs”, “On valuation”, and other statutory and legal acts.
