The historical drama based on the play by the national writer of Turkmenistan Govshutgeldy Danatarov "Jalaletdin Sultan - the pride of the Fatherland" was shown to the festival participants by the creative team of the Main Drama Theater.

- 800 years have passed since this hero did not exist, but his spirit still lives among us, - says Govshutgeldy Danatarovich, explaining why he chose this topic. – While working on the play, I took as a basis one of the many legends composed about Dzhelaletdin by the people.

Sultan Jalaletdin went down in history as the only military leader who managed to resist Genghis Khan. On the basis of this fact, director Eziz Ishanguliyev presented a prelude to the action of the performance: enraged, uncontrollable lions swept away cities and their inhabitants in a cloud, without encountering any obstacles in their path. And only the fearless Dzhelaletdin, drawing his sword, single-handedly rushed into combat with this wickedness.

The impressive screen saver immediately takes the viewer to tragic times, stained with blood from the barbarism of the Mongol-Tatar yoke.

… A few years earlier, Jalaletdin, contrary to custom, married his beloved girl, which immediately turned Turkan-Khatyn, the mother of Khorezmshah Muhammad, against her grandson. The power-hungry grandmother prevented his ascension to the throne, although he was the eldest son of Muhammad.

Dzhelaletdin Menburny from childhood showed great abilities for the art of war. Therefore, when it became known about the approaching army of Genghis Khan, his father entrusted the protection of Khorezmshah to him. And Dzhelaletdin showed miracles of courage in battle. For the first time, Genghis Khan met an enemy who managed to repel the onslaught of his cavalry.

However, tensions between Turkan-Khatyn and her unloved grandson led to the fact that Muhammad had to refuse further protection of Jalaletdin Khorezmshah. Mohammed made a big miscalculation, and yet dying, he handed over the keys to Khorezmshah to Jalaletdin. However, this did not save the situation, and the festival participants witnessed the tragic events that unfolded further.

This is how a father should have a son! - Genghis Khan said in the final, giving Dzhelaletdin the opportunity to escape from his pursuers.

Nothing could escape the professional eyes of the festival participants: the stage design depicting Khorezm at the beginning of the 13th century, the luxurious costumes of the heroes of that time, theatrical special effects, the maximum authenticity of the memorable events taking place with the legendary hero, whose name in golden letters entered the history and culture of our people.
