The National Parliament – Mejlis of Turkmenistan adopted the Resolution on fixing the date of election of Gengesh (bodies of local self-government) members. According to the document the election of Gengesh members will take place in Turkmenistan on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
In line with another Resolution adopted by the National parliament, election of Mejlis deputies will be held at two electoral districts – district 26 in Ahal Velayat and district 99 in Mary Velayat, on the same date – August 19, 2012.
These documents were adopted at the fourteenth session of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan of the fourth convocation.
