On the stage of the Turkmen Music and Drama Theater named after Magtymguly was an opera with a grand success “Magtymguly”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher.

10 years ago, in 2012, took place the premiere of this opera. This year, within the framework of the Days of Culture and Art and the celebration of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, the creative teams of the theater and the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Maya Kulyyeva restored the opera. The audience in the hall was divided into those who listened to the opera for the second time, and those who got to know it for the first time. It should be noted that both those and others received incomparable pleasure from high vocals.

Remind that the music for the opera was written by Julius Meitus, the authors of the libretto are Alty Garlyyev, Berdi Kerbabayev, the conductor and choirmaster is the Honored Art Worker Gurban Babayev, the stage director is the Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan Aynazar Batyrov.

All parts of the opera were performed by teachers and students of the conservatory: the part of Magtymguly- Begench Mashiyev (tenor), the part of Mengli - Arzygul Gylyjova (soprano), the part of Azady - Begench Gayypov (baritone).

Thanks to the production designer Mekan Annamyradov, the audience plunged into the atmosphere in which the greatest Turkmen poet of the 18th century lived, studied, loved and suffered.
