President of Turkmenistan conducts video conference

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov conducted a video conference with the cabinet ministers, the Chairperson of the Mejlis, the heads of ministries and departments and the khyakims of velayats and Ashgabat. The video conference agenda focused on the progress in implementing the large-scale programmes of social and economic development of Turkmenistan as well as the priority state policy issues.

Chairperson of the Mejlis A. Nurberdieva expressed the suggestion of the deputies of the National Parliament to hold the planting campaign throughout the country on April 14 that would promote the further improvement of the cities and settlements in Turkmenistan and transformation of the Fatherland into a blossoming garden.

The Vice Premiers reported on the fulfillment of the Turkmen leader’s instructions and the work carried out in the sectors under their supervision. In particular, it was reported on the progress of agricultural works, including the cotton and other crops sowing campaigns. The Week of Health and Happiness taken place in our country to mark the World Health Day was summed up. The Vice Premiers also reported on the preparations for the population and housing census to be held in Turkmenistan in December of the current year.

Reporting on the progress in implementing the large-scale programs on planting of greenery and improving the cities and settlements of the country, the Minister of Nature Protection of Turkmenistan focused on the issues related to creating new forest zones and public green spaces as well as growing the saplings of deciduous and coniferous trees in specialized tree nurseries. It was also reported on the outcomes of the scheduled inspections on compliance with the environmental protection requirements and forthcoming activities.

According to the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), commenting on the report, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov underlined the priority of the ecology issues in the context of the large-scale social and economic programmes implemented in Turkmenistan. The Turkmen leader emphasized that it was important to plant various species of trees and shrubs, including saplings delivered from abroad that satisfied the requirements of the modern landscape architecture.

Underling that Turkmenistan should give the lead to the other countries in the sphere of ecological prosperity, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the relevant officials that the rigorous control should be kept over the observance of the ecological safety norms at the enterprises, institutions and organisations of all industries, and, in particular, at the large industrial facilities under construction. The Turkmen leader noted that it was also important to brisk up the scientific work in the sphere of nature protection and gave specific instructions in this regard.

The Ashgabat Khyakim reported on the progress in implementing the construction projects and the measures taken to create favourable conditions for recreation of the local citizens as well as interesting and healthy entertainment for children.

Then the Director General of the Turkmen Atlary State Association reported on the outcomes of the working trip to the French Republic taken on the Turkmen leader's instructions last week with the aim to study the experience of the horse breeding industry and equestrian sports. In particular, the program of the visit to France included familiarization with one of the largest hippodromes in France as well as organization of work of the veterinary service of the country. It was noted that French partners demonstrated keen interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan, the Motherland of the world-known Ahalteke horses.

Underlining that the further improvement and development of the art of the Turkmen horse breeding renowned in centuries, preservation of its unique traditions, and, along with it, promotion of equestrian sport and establishment of the relevant modern infrastructure ranked among the priority aspects of the state policy of Turkmenistan in the new historical epoch, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedv noted that our country had always been opened for fruitful cooperation in this sphere.

In this regard the President of Turkmenistan instructed the head of the Turkmen Atlary State Association to ensure the high organizational level of the preparations and celebrations of the Turkmen Horse Day traditionally celebrated in our country on the last Sunday of April as a nation-wide festivity, and the festive events dedicated to the holiday, including the IV International Conference “Turkmen Horse and Art of World Horse Breeding”, the II Conference of the International Association of Ahalteke Horse Breeding and f the Ahalteke Horse of the Year Contest, etc.

Then the floor was given to the khyakims of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary Velayats, who reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural activities in the regions under their supervision, including the paces of the cotton sowing campaign, as well as the progress in implementing the National reformatory programme envisaging construction of social, economic and other facilities in the regions. The heads of the administrative centers of the regions reported on the events taken place in the velayats on occasion of the World Health Day that was widely celebrated in Turkmenistan on April 7.

Dwelling upon the issues of the preparations for the children’s summer holidays, the President of Turkmenistan underlined the necessity of completion of all repairing works in the health-improving centers in proper time and focused the velayat khyakims’ attention on the significance of the regular training of the personnel working in these institutions. President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to complete the works on improvement of recreation areas in time and create all necessary conditions in order that the Turkmen citizens could make good use of their spare time.

Noting that Turkmenistan had chaired the CIS this year, and that Mary had been announced a cultural capital of CIS for 2012, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the Mary Velayat Khyakim to organize and hold all actions dedicated to this remarkable event at the high level.

At the conclusion of the video conference President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said that the issues considered during the conference were critical to improving the social and living conditions of citizens of Turkmenistan that was prioritized by the strategy of the state development of Turkmenistan and underlined the significance of fulfilling the tasks at the high level in line with the creative spirit of the new historical epoch.
