On the eve of the Turkmen Alabai Holiday, celebrated in Turkmenistan on the last Sunday of October, an exhibition of photographs and paintings dedicated to the ancient breed of dogs was opened in the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists.

The exposition “Türkmen alabaýy – ynam we wepalylygyň nyşany” (“Turkmen Alabay is a symbol of devotion and fidelity”), organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, collected more than a hundred creative works of professional photographers, artists, teachers and students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan.

The exposition participants who presented their works for a wide review were awarded diplomas and certificates from the secretariat of the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO.

The exhibition displays priceless photographs of a true friend and protector of man - Alabai, who has accompanied the Turkmen people for many centuries. In the original style, the artists reveal the image of a unique breed of dogs. The paintings depict affectionate Alabai puppies; adults appear in all their glory, strengthened four-legged friends of man.
