President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived to Balkan Velayat on a working visit, took part in the nationwide planting campaign launching the new stage of planting greenery in the Avaza National tourist zone, got acquainted with the progress in construction works carried out in the region and considered the new projects for further development of the world-class sea resort created on the Caspian coast.
Since early morning, the atmosphere of a festive mood and big holiday reigned on the Caspian coast, where an international health resort has been created. The festively decorated Avaza sea resort greeted numerous guests, including the Chairperson of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, the heads of Balkan Velayat, ministries and departments, as well as deputies of the National Parliament from all regions of the country. Music and songs sounded everywhere adding the joyful mood to the important event.
The President’s car arrived to the venue. Participant of the nationwide action greeted the Turkmen leader with a storm of applause. The girls in festive national dresses presented the bunches of flowers to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
The folklore, dance and musical groups performed a bright concert programme on the bank of the Avaza River.
Greeting participants, the Turkmen leader thanked them for participation in this noble action, the main goal of which was to adorn the ancient Turkmen land.
Then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov planted a young tree launching the nationwide planting campaign. It should be noted that the large-sale work on creation of ‘an emerald green attire’ of the Avaza National tourist zone was started in autumn of the year of 2009. At present, the 300-meter green zone has stretched out along the Caspian coast for over 12 kilometer. Till the end of the spring planting campaign in Avaza, 40,000 trees will be planted there.
Once again thanking all for their active participation in the campaign, the President of Turkmenistan headed to the newly-constructed buildings in Avaza.
Since the end of 2007, when construction at the Avaza National tourist zone was launched, over 1.4 billion US dollar has been invested into this grandiose project. And today, the Today, the magnificent architectural ensembles - luxury hotels and comfortable children's health-improving centers, including Watanchi, Hazyna, Charlak, Nebitchi, Kerwen, Kuwwat, Serdar, Arzuv, Dayanch adorn the Caspian coast. The new international airport supplied with the most advanced equipment, a powerful gas turbine power plant, sea water desalination plant replenished the resort infrastructure. The 7-km navigation canal with eleven highway and foot bridges crosses the Avaza. The improved recreation area with amphitheaters, the original complex of fountains, cafes and restaurants, piers for marine yachts and pleasure boats stretches along the banks of the canal.
At the moment, more than 20 new objects are built in Avaza. Among them are a powerful health and recreation center for the specialists of the agro-industrial complex, luxury hotels erected at the request of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport and the Committee for Tourism and Sports of Turkmenistan, a multisectoral holiday center of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, high-rise hotel with eight cottages and a cottage area, including 27 two-storey houses of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
Among the other projects implemented in Avaza are the cultural and entertainment center with twelve cottages for Ashgabat Khyakimlik, resort areas, including ten two-story cottages each for the specialists of the financial and economic sector and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. At the request of the Ministry of Culture and Broadcasting a cottage area, including 15 two-storey houses are constructed in the Avaza National tourist zone, and ten cottages with the health-improving and entertainment infrastructure - for the builders of the fuel and energy complex. The specialists of khyakimliks of each velayat and members of their families will spend their holidays at the modern health-improving center for children and adults designed for 300 places each.
In addition to hotels, health-improving centers, sanatoriums and recreation centers, opening which will increase the number of holiday-makers in Avaza up to 4,000 people each season, the construction of yacht club has launched, and a special area is allocated for construction of a multi-sports camp with stadium, tracks and other major sports facilities. The projects on construction of an entertainment center with a Ferris wheel, ‘roller coaster’, aqua parks and other park amusements, the multi-storey car park designed for 266 cars and a modern office with production infrastructure for the Department of Public Utilities Committee for the Avaza National tourist zone are implemented at present.
In near future, it is planned to create the golf fields, karting racetracks, and oceanarium. The preparatory works for construction of the Exhibition Palace, trading, business and SPA-centers are carried out in Avaza. An impressive building of the Palace of Congresses will be built in the crescent-shaped bend of the south coast of the seaside resort.

The magnificent complex will consist of five blocks of various heights, the highest one - the ten-storey building – will raise up to 80 meters. The favorable conditions for spending holidays with families, including all kinds of sports facilities, and children's playgrounds will be created in the center built by the Belda Construction Company (Turkey).

The drafts of interiors of a multifunctional recreation center of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, a high-class 12-storey hotel for the specialists of the State Service of Maritime and River Transport of Turkmenistan as well as new projects drafted by the Belda Company were presented to the Turkmen leader for consideration at the pavilion erected on the construction site.
Among them are the projects of administrative buildings of Turkmenbashi khyakimlik, and the Committee on the Avaza National tourism zone, as well as a new building of the branch of the Department of the Maritime and River Transport of the Turkmen State Institute of Transport and Communications, which will be built in the seaside city. The Turkish partners also presented the project on construction of a stable designed for breeding 600 horses in the lower Geokdere, Ruhabat Etrap, and a number of industrial facilities.
During the presentation, the President of Turkmenistan also considered the project of a cultural and entertainment complex “The planet of board games” designed by the “Revival Production Association” Close Corporation, St. Petersburg. The project envisages a park, and special facilities supplied with all relevant equipment and areas for playing chess, checkers, and table tennis.
It should be noted that last year, two modern overpasses built with the participation of the largest in the north-western region of Russia holding company were put into operation on the highway connecting the airport of Turkmenbashi city with the Avaza National tourism zone. At the present time, according to the Resolution of the President of Turkmenistan, the “Revival Production Association” Close Corporation has been entrusted with construction of several motor roads in Ashgabat, including improvement of the adjacent territory.
Considering the projects, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions and comments. Speaking about the importance of the thoughtful, comprehensive, and, along with it, creative approach to development of Avaza, the Turkmen leader noted that the plans for development of the National tourism zone opened up wide opportunities for designers and architects to implement the boldest and innovative ideas.
