On December 12th, the Ashgabat cinema will host the grand opening of the Russian Film and Animation Week.

Within five days, Ashgabat residents and guests of the Turkmen capital will be presented with a number of Russian-made films, including new and the best animated films.

Children and teenagers will certainly enjoy the cartoon («Конь Юлий и большие скачки») "Horse Julius and the Great Races", which tells about a heroic horse named Julius, who falls in love with a beautiful horse - the Star of the East, which belongs to the Sultan.

Also for the children's audience there will be a screening of the film in the fantasy genre («Конёк-Горбунок») "The Little Humpbacked Horse". The plot of the famous fairy tale is rethought and filmed using modern technologies and computer graphics.

The older audience is invited to the feature film («Белый снег») "White Snow". The film directed by Nikolai Homeriki, shot in the genre of sports drama, is based on real events. The story tells about the life of Russian skier Elena Vyalbe: from a girl from a poor Magadan family to the best skier of the 20th century.

The schedule of sessions and venues are indicated in the program.

Admission to all film screenings is free. Invitations for screenings at the Berkarar cinema will be issued at the box office from December 9th.

The week of Russian cinema and animation, organized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of the country, will last until December 16 inclusive.
