Toward the close of the outgoing 2022, the State Museum of the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan hosted an event dedicated to summing up the results of the competition «Museums of the Arkadag era», announced among etrap, rural, city, regional museums, as well as their branches.
The country's museums competed in the conduct of scientific, cultural and educational activities, the organization of expositions and museum repositories. The level of training of museum specialists was also assessed.
In the nomination «The best velayat museum of the year» the winner was the Museum of Local Lore of the Balkan velayat. According to the director of this museum, Azatgul Hojaberdiyeva, this victory is, first of all, the merit of the team. The high appreciation of the work of workers will serve as an incentive for further work to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Balkan velayat.
The Bagshy Museum of Dashoguz Velayat became the winner of the competition for the title of «The Best City Museum of the Year».
The best etrap museum of the year was declared the museum named after Magtymguly Pyragy of Magtymguly etrap, Balkan velayat.
Among the rural cultural institutions, in the nomination «The Best Rural Museum of the Year», the Gengeshlik Museum named after S.Cherkezov, Akdepe etrap, Dashoguz velayat.
The Historical and Archaeological Museum of the Mekan village of Bayramaly etrap, a branch of the Museum of Local History of Mary Velayat, won in the nomination «The Best Museum Branch of the Year».
The village museum, located on the territory of a monument of history and architecture, in the estate of Guljemal Han, built at the end of the 19th century, is the pride of the velayat to this day. Objects of a unique civilization - Ancient Merv, various jewelry, ceramics of various forms and other archaeological finds are exhibited here.
This year, as part of Week of Culture, this museum was visited by numerous guests, theater and variety artists, employees of the capital and velayat museums and libraries from all over the country.
The competition held among museums was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan jointly with the National Trade Union Center. All the winners were awarded commemorative diplomas and special gifts.
