President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov chaired a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers to consider the progress in implementing the national programmes, the important issues of the state policy, and drafts of documents.
Vice Premiers, and heads of a number of ministries and departments reported on the progress in implementing the foreign-policy strategy of the country, preparations for the first sitting of the Turkmen-Tatar working commission for trading and economic, scientific and technological, and cultural cooperation, the International conference on Globalization of the Financial System and Interregional Criterion of its Sustainable Development, the second exhibition of the US companies, and the Turkmen-American business-forum, the fair of the products of the CIS countries held within the framework of Turkmenistan’s presidency in the CIS. The information on the complex measures taken to ensure the traffic safety in the Turkmen capital, the progress in implementing the Ashgabat planning programme, developing the spheres of transports, oil and gas, chemical and fish industries, and the course of construction works at the Avaza National tourist zone.
It was also reported on the progress of works on creation of a Party of entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, preparations for election of Gengesh members, the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, various festive events in honor of the 67th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War.
Vice Premiers reported on the work carried out in the agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal agricultural activities, the preparations for the IV International scientific conference “Turkmen horse and the world art of horse breeding” and the II meeting of the International Association of Ahelteke Horse Breeding.
Commenting on the reports, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov demanded the relevant officials to take all necessary measures to prevent the traffic accidents, on construction of additional road interchanges and underground passages on the important intersections in the city, and modernization of the traffic control system. The President of Turkmenistan instructed the relevant officials to ensure modernization of the sea and port fleets, and to study the issues of purchasing municipal and interurban buses.
Dwelling upon the issue of establishing the Party of entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen leader noted that creation of a multiparty system in the country satisfy the goals for further democratization of the society and the fundamental social reforms taken place in the country.
Underling the importance of promotion of the glory of ‘heavenly’ horses and development of equestrian sport, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov instructed the relevant officials to draft the Resolution on awarding jockeys with the ranks in order to encourage them for further growth of their mastership. The Turkmen leader suggested organizing international competitions – Ahalteke horse racing and gave the relevant instructions.
President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov signed the Resolutions “On rice production in Turkmenistan in 2012”, “On the State Programee for healthcare development for 2012-2016”, the Decree “On awarding presents on occasion of the 67th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War”, and a number of other documents.
The other important state policy issues were considered and the decisions were adopted during the meeting.
