On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Georgia on the initiative of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Turkmenistan and the assistance of the Ministry of Culture of our country in the National Music and Drama Theatre. Magtymguly hosted a concert of classical music performed by the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan under the baton of Georgian guest Italian composer and conductor Claudio Vandelli.

The concert program opened with one of the most original works of the French composer Hector Berlioz «Fantastic Symphony». The audience warmly welcomed the performance skills of the conductor and the musicians of the orchestra.

Clarinet solo in Claude Debussy's «Premiere Rhapsody» was performed by Yusup Ovezov. She sounded lofty, calm and impartial at the same time. Debussy is recognized as an impressionist in music, and the «Premiere Rhapsody» is a clear evidence of this.

Antonin Dvořák's four-movement Symphony № 9 conveyed the unexpected emotions that arose from moving from his native Czech Republic with its medieval castles, tiled roofs of houses and cobblestone streets to New York - a huge metropolis with skyscrapers made of glass and concrete. But delight and surprise soon give way to nostalgia for their native places, however, no matter what Dvořák talks about in his music, it is always bright and rich.

Maestro Claudio Vandalli is a famous Italian conductor and leader of the Pan-Caucasian Youth Orchestra. In addition to the concert, which was a great success, the purpose of his visit is also the selection of young Turkmen musicians to participate in the annual Tsinandali International Classical Music Festival. Last year 5 of our musicians became participants of this festival. Since 2023, Turkmenistan has become a permanent member of the youth symphony orchestra of the Tsinandali festival. This participation gives an opportunity to represent the Turkmen school of classical music around the world.

Thanks to the audience for the warm welcome, Claudio Vandalli noted the high level of skill of the musicians of the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan and the outstanding talent of its artistic director Resul Gylyjov. Three rehearsals with the musicians were enough for the maestro to give a concert in front of the exacting Ashgabat audience, and this testifies to a lot.
