Three films of the Türkmenfilm association named after Oguzhan - «Istärin» by Arslan Eyeberdiyev, «Gyzyl kürte» by Sahysalyh Bayramov and «Gyzyl alma» by Hekim Alovov were sent to the Republic of Korea to participate in the «Central Asian Film Festival 2023 in Uijonbu».
The festival will be held on the 28th - 29th of April in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi Province. Announcing the upcoming event, Korean media write that this film festival, organized by the city of Uijeongbu in conjunction with Shinhan University, is a platform for the presentation of films from Central Asian countries that are in the spotlight at the international level, but little known in Korea.
Film screenings will take place at Shinhan University Gymnasium and local cinemas (CGV Uijeongbu, Megabox Millak). Opening ceremony to be held at Shinhan University on the 28th of April.
On the 29th of April, there will be screenings of films from five countries of Central Asia - Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan and three specially invited countries - Azerbaijan, Mongolia and Indonesia. Filmmakers from these countries will present their best works of various genres, including films that recently participated in the International Film Festival in Busan, Korea. Everyone is welcome to free screenings.
