Turkmen-Russian theatrical friendship: results of the Educational project summed up in Ashgabat

The profile educational program ended with the solemn ceremony of presenting certificates of the residence of the Educational project «National Theatre School» in Ashgabat.

For three days, the students of the project - artists of the national theatres of Turkmenistan and students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture took part in master classes, trainings and workshops in various areas of theatrical art.

Delegates representing the National Drama Theatre of Russia (Alexandrinsky Theatre), St. Petersburg State University and the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts shared innovations with their Turkmen colleagues in the field of modern theatrical process, as well as management principles in the modern national theatre.

In his speech, the director of the Alexandrinsky Theatre Sergey Yemelyanov noted:

– We spent three days in Turkmenistan as one busy creative month. We visited many theatres, cultural institutions and made sure how high the attention of the country's leadership, here in Turkmenistan, to our sphere.

Of course, this is a great merit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. I want to express my sincere gratitude to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, because it was thanks to the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives, which was created on his initiative, that the «National Theater School» was held.

We leave with a feeling of hope that we will be able to implement a lot of planned projects. I congratulate all of us on the beginning of a great Turkmen-Russian theatrical friendship.

At the end of the solemn ceremony on the stage of the Main Academic Drama Theatre named after S. Turkmenbashy the Great, guests from St. Petersburg were presented with national dressing gowns and memorable souvenirs.
