In the capital of Turkmenistan, with the support of the Department of Culture of the city of Ashgabat, the festival of the creative heritage of Magtymguly Magtymguly sözlär tili türkmeniň», dedicated to the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the classic of Turkmen poetry, has started.
Musical groups representing the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva, the Turkmen State Special Music School named after. D. Ovezov at TNC, as well as the House of Culture of the capital region, performed on the stage of the «Vatan» cinema and concert centre.
The concert program consisted of songs composed to the verses of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, the founder of the Turkmen literary language Magtymguly Pyragy. Songs that are a national treasure were performed by People's and Honoured Artists of Turkmenistan Shemshat Hojayeva, Palvan Hamydov, Merdan Bayramov, Garyagdy Saryyev and many others.
In the coming days, the regional stages of the festival will be held in Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.
Summing up the festival is scheduled for June. The final round will bring together the best musicians and performers of folk songs in Ashgabat. The participants who won prizes will be awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts of the festival held under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan.
