Three large paintings by artists Tachmukhammed Myakhtiev, Baydurdy Berdyev and Sajan Akmukhammedov were displayed in the second-floor foyer of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva. These works were dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the brilliant Turkmen composer Nury Halmamedov. The paintings are about Nury Halmamedov's friends and his work.

A lecture-concert was held in the Small Hall of the Conservatory on Nury Halmamedov's birthday. This performance presented the composer's work in various genres. The greatest composer left his mark in almost all musical genres. Each of them was provided with informational support by students of the Department of Music Theory.

"Melody of Dutar" by Nury Halmamedov was performed to the story about the piano direction. Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov was at the piano. The uniqueness of this composition is that you can hear the clear sound of an ancient turkmen dutar during the performance on a European musical instrument. Honored Artist of Turkmenistan Bibi Amanova and laureate of the State Prize "Turkmenistanyň Altyn asyry"Amangeldy Amanov illustrated the vocal direction with their performance. They performed vocal compositions from the cycle of songs based on Magtymguly's poems and Nury Halmamedov's music. Stella Faramazova, diploma winner of international competitions, was the concertmaster of this performance.

Guljemal Durdiyeva presented chamber and symphony music, performing Nury Halmamedov's Violin Sonata.

Film music was a special section of the composer's work. His music in the movie "Competition" raised the film to the world level. Musical fragments from the movie "The Decisive Step" have become separate works, which are often performed by our musicians.

The concert ended with a composition by Mered Annamuradov "Bagyşlama"- dedicated to Nury Halmamedov. It was performed on the piano by Erjel Yagshimuradov.

This year, a new discipline journalism and music criticism was opened for students studying music theory. The concert-lecture of Nury Halmamedov's creative work is the first practical lesson for students.
