On the 22nd of May, a solemn opening ceremony of the Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Romania was held in Bucharest, which became a vivid symbol of the emergence of interstate relations to a new level, opening up opportunities for the spiritual rapprochement of the two peoples. The organizers of the creative action were the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and the Ministry of Culture of Romania, as well as the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania.
The development of cultural and humanitarian diplomacy is given a significant place in the foreign policy strategy of Turkmenistan, successfully implemented under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov. This vector of interstate interaction is very important, since the development of a dialogue in the cultural sphere, which brings peoples together and forms a solid foundation for further strengthening cooperation, is identified as one of the key aspects of our country's international relations.
Speaking about the Turkmen-Romanian partnership, it should be noted that meetings at the highest, intergovernmental and interdepartmental levels, contacts both in a bilateral format and within the framework of the largest authoritative structures - the United Nations and the European Union, demonstrate good prospects for strengthening productive ties between by both countries. An integral part of Turkmenistan-Romania relations is the humanitarian aspect, the interest shown by our peoples in each other's history and culture.
Intergovernmental documents signed in recent years serve as a reliable basis for successfully developing fruitful contacts in this area, including between scientific and educational centers and cultural figures of the two countries. Vivid examples of productive ties are the education of Turkmen students in the leading higher educational institutions of a friendly state, the participation of scientists and cultural figures of the two countries in international scientific and creative forums organized in Turkmenistan and Romania, and the holding of cross Days of Culture. Along with this, it is important to note that the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov «Medicinal plants of Turkmenistan», «Ahal-Teke horse is our pride and glory», as well as a collection of poems by the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy were translated into Romanian. All this speaks of the great attention of the Romanian side to the spiritual life of our country.
The current creative action is held within the framework of events organized in accordance with the special Decree of the President of Turkmenistan on the solemn celebration in 2024 at the international level of the 300th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding philosopher and classical poet Magtymguly Pyragy.
In this regard, the program of the Days of Culture, which will be held in Bucharest and Constanta, includes an international conference, an exhibition, an evening of poetry, a screening of the film «Istärin» by the Oguzhan «Turkmenfilm» Association, dedicated to the work of the great Turkmen poet and thinker, whose literature. Also, the inhabitants of Romania will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the national arts and crafts and art, original Turkmen cuisine and traditional costumes, song and musical creativity of our people.
