The capital's Exhibition Center hosted an exhibition of works of three artists from Mary: Shokhrat Berdyev, Gurbandurdy Terkeshev and Merdan Akmammedov. The works occupied both floors of the center.
On the presented graphic paintings of Gurbandurdy Terkeshev, one can feel his own style. There is an ancient tree among the residential buildings in his painting "Old-Timer". This tree has seen a lot in its lifetime and keeps in memory stories from the lives of several generations of residents.
In our opinion, "The Writer" is one of the most interesting works of the artist Merdan Akmammedov. A heart, from which pencils come, is drawn in the center of the picture and people are depicted at the bottom of the picture.
The artist Shokhrat Berdyev prefers to write on everyday topics. One of these works is “In the Grandmother’s Yard”. The granddaughter helps her grandmother to wind the yarn into balls, the grandmother shakes the cradle with her little grandson with her free foot. An older grandson plays with a puppy, and birds, that have flown into the yard, peck the remains of food from the puppy's bowl. The cat, curling up in a ball, sleeps sweetly in this company. In addition, pilav is being prepared for lunch.
The works of the three artists differ greatly in terms of the thematic orientation and technique of execution, and, of course, the question arises what unites them in one exhibition. The answer to this question was given by Azat Annaev, the art critic, Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan:
– Despite the completely different creativity of these artists, there is a philosophical content in their works. Even if the picture is painted on a domestic theme, it looks like a poem. These artists tend to make a legend of existence out of everyday situations.
In confirmation of the opinion of the art critic, Merdan Akmammedov interprets his painting "Notes of Life". On the left, a young couple is depicted on the background of a guitar, young people are usually interested in it. On the right, an elderly couple is drawn on the background of a dutar. There are spring, summer, autumn, winter plants between pairs. The seasons come imperceptibly and also imperceptibly go away, time develops into years and decades. An interesting and perhaps the most important detail is that birds are located on the wires of the communication lines, it looks visually very similar to the notes. The melody of life is on these notes.
The exhibition of artists from Mary is especially attractive for a thoughtful viewer, who lingers for a long time at the paintings, trying to unravel the author's intention.
