Concert of the "Ragtime" band was held in the Small Hall of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after Mai Kuliyeva. This group performed for the first time in 2020 and immediately won a wide range of fans among the listeners. Just to remind, that the band took the name thanks to the audience, who especially liked the pieces in the style of jazz, which in musical terminology is denoted by "ragtime".

Natella Bagirova, the head of the band, is the concertmaster of the Department of Wind and Percussion Instruments. The band also included students Mukhammed Juraev (bass guitar) and Kakageldy Gurbanmuradov (drum set).

The "Ragtime" group opened the concert program with John Kander's work "New York, New York", immediately setting the audience up for an optimistic rhythmic mood.

Suleyman Yalkabov performed solo on saxophone with touching song by Joe Dassin "And if you didn’t exist". There were mentally heard the words of the thoughtful charming voice of the French chansonnier behind the languid sounds of the saxophone.

Speaking of soloists, the "Ragtime" group is so popular at the conservatory, that sometimes students turn to Natella with an offer to listen to some composition. Therefore, there was nothing surprising in the fact, that seven soloists performed at the concert, vocalist Tazegul Bayramova was one of them.

The listeners particularly liked works of George Gershwin "Oh, Lady Be Good" and Percy Mayfield "Get Out, Jack." The playful mood of these works allowed saxophonists Suleyman Yalkabov, Khydyr Esenov, Atajan Rejepov, Dovran Klychev, Aymammed Huseinkhanov, Joshmurad Arnepesov to improvise.

The concert left the most pleasant impression for audience and performers.
