The concert in honor of the 89th anniversary of the birth of Nikolai Amiyants, Honored Art Worker of Turkmenistan, was held in the Great Hall of Turkmen National Conservatory named after Mai Kulieva.
Let us mention, that it is generally accepted to celebrate round dates, but during the lifetime of N. A. Amiyants, the founder of Turkmen violin school, his students prepared a concert program for each birthday of their Maestro. After Nikolai Amiyants left us, those who were lucky enough to know him and work together continued this tradition.
The famous violinist Bahram Dolyev noted in an interview, that he was often scolded by teachers in the Special Music Boarding School, although he was the best student. "You can do more," they explained.
- I didn't understand them, but when I entered the conservatory and heard Nikolai Amiyants’ play, my heart clenched with feelings. I realized that I would not be able to play like that. For the first time, there was a bar in front of me to strive for.
Nikolai Amiyants, talking about himself, said that he picked up a violin as a child and had not parted with it since. He could have become an outstanding violinist, but he did not participate in prestigious competitions, having early felt pedagogical abilities in himself. Turkmenistan has its own violin school, thanks to Nikolai Amiyants’ talent and high culture of communication. Our violinists return from international competitions with the titles of laureates, strengthening the prestige of our country.
This event brought together friends and relatives of Nikolai Amiyants, as well as his colleagues, students and those who knew and admired the talented musician. The concert program was opened by the string orchestra with Handel's «Passacaglia». There were performed works by Nury Halmamedov, Alexander Spendiarov, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Sergei Prokopyev, Aram Khachaturian, Maurice Ravel, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and other composers. Moreover, there was performed Waltz from the ballet "The Seven Beauties" by Kara Karaev, one of the favorite works of Nikolai Amiyants.
An interesting detail was that in addition to students and teachers of the conservatory, the concert was attended by students of the Children's Art School № 1, Special Music Boarding School of TNC, teachers of the Turkmen State Music School named after Danatar Ovezov. Their performances were regarded as a bow from all violinists to Nikolai Amiyants , an unsurpassed musician, teacher and wonderful person.
