The capital's Center for Free Creativity hosted a meeting of young journalists, poets, writers, translators and students of Ashgabat universities on the eve of the Day of Workers of Culture and Art, as well as Poetry of Magtymguly Pyragy.
Every year on June 27, outstanding artists celebrate their professional holiday in our country, which is accompanied by the Week of Culture. For many years, one of the velayats has become the center of the main celebrations. This year, the white marble city of Ashgabat will host creative delegations from all over the country.
As part of Culture Week 2023, there will be numerous activities in various types of art and artistic creativity.
The creative meeting, organized by the editorial office of the newspaper "Edebiýat we sungat" together with the Turkmen State Publishing Service, became a kind of harbinger of the upcoming cultural events.
Amangozel Shagulyeva, poetess and Hero of Turkmenistan, head of the editorial office of the newspaper "Edebiýat we sungat", addressed a welcoming speech to the participants of the event. The People's Writer shared with the audience her memories of the bright moments of her creative activity. For forty years of her life she has been inseparably connected with her work at her favorite newspaper.
Amangozel Shagulyeva has gained great professional experience and the opportunity to communicate with prominent workers of culture and art, poets and writers known today as representatives of the modern Turkmen literature. In addition, she continues to work for the benefit of the country and guides the youth to follow the precepts of her ancestors and the wise policy of Hero-Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
At the end, the poetess delighted the audience with a reading of her new poems.
Akmyrat Charyev, senior teacher of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva, People's Artist of Turkmenistan, continued the creative meeting. The teacher spoke about music luminaries and folk bakhshi. In his youth, the musician was lucky to perform with the legendary bakhshi Sakhy Jepbarov.
The great-grandson of the famous bakhshi Sakhyberdi Jepbarov was present in the hall. In his speech, he expressed gratitude to the National Leader and the President of Turkmenistan for assigning the name of his famous ancestor Sakhy Jepbarov to the Specialized Art School of the new city of Arkadag. Then he performed the national melody "At çapar" on the dutar, which remained in memory of his grandfather.
The rich program of the creative meeting also included a performance by a group of tuiduk players representing the Turkmen State Special Music School named after Danatar Ovezov at the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M.Kulieva.
Next year, Turkmenistan will celebrate the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, Turkmen poet, philosopher, founder of the Turkmen literary language. Therefore, Yagmyr Gurbannazarov, Honored Artist of Turkmenistan, dedicated his speech to the works of the great poet.
Radio announcer Setdar Abdyev, known in our country as a talented reciter of poems by the great Magtymguly Pyragy, told about his work and mentors. Dovletgeldi Annamyradov, People's Writer of Turkmenistan, read new works of his own composition.
The editor-in-chief of the International magazine "Turkmenistan Sport" told about the activities of the edition, the publications covering not only important sports events in our country, but also the materials devoted to the cultural heritage, masters of folk crafts and artists.
