A solemn meeting was held today at the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan on the occasion of handing over the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov a two-volume book “Magtymguly Pyragyny goşgular diwany” (A collection of poems by Magtymguly Fraghi) as a gift from the Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The event was attended by heads and scientists of the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan.

In recent years, Turkmen-Iranian relations in culture and education have reached a new level. International conferences and forums are regularly held with the participation of the delegations of our country and the Islamic Republic of Iran. The organization of mutual Culture Days, exhibitions of decorative and applied arts and other joint events determines the effective nature of cooperation. The transfer of a two-volume Collection of Poems by Magtymguly Fraghi to our country is intended to strengthen the relations established in this direction.

The meeting dedicated to this event was organized by the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.

Speakers at the event highlighted that the peoples of the two neighboring countries have been bound by friendship, cultural and humanitarian cooperation throughout history. As it was noted, Turkmenistan, committed to the principles of peacefulness and good neighborliness, attaches great importance to the development of partnership with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all areas, which is one of the priorities of our country’s foreign policy strategy.

The transfer of a two-volume Collection of poems by Magtymguly Fraghi as a gift by the Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is a vivid expression of the dynamic development of partnership relations and a sign of special respect for our country.

Last year, in Tehran, another evidence of strengthening the bilateral partnership in the research field became the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Magtymguly Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the National Library and Archive of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

As the speakers noted, in this regard, the transfer of a two-volume Collection of Poems by Magtymguly Fraghi is noteworthy, which is in itself a landmark event. The collection of poetic works by the master of the artistic word of the Turkmen people will be an excellent support in the comprehensive study of his literary heritage.

The main emphasis was placed on the growing dynamics of international cooperation in the study of the cultural fund and national values in the era of the Revival of the new epoch of the powerful state. All this is of particular importance against the background of large-scale preparations for the solemn celebration of the 300th anniversary of the great thinker and classical poet Magtymguly Fraghi.

The participants of the solemn meeting expressed sincere gratitude to the Hero-Arkadag and President Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the attention paid to the development of international cultural and humanitarian dialogue, including the collection of information about classical literature. The current event has become another confirmation of the existence of huge prospects for mutually beneficial Turkmen-Iranian cooperation based on the principles of friendship and brotherhood.
