For lovers of theatrical art, a pleasant event began - the opening of the theatrical season. «Toýumuza gel, toýumuza» («Waiting for you at the wedding») - a performance with such an attractive name opened the theatrical season of the National Music and Drama Theatre named after Magtymguly.

This kind production takes the viewer back to the 60-70s of the last century to one of the Turkmen villages, in which a guy, returning from the army, fell in love with a girl working in the House of Culture. The young people decided to get married. And here the main thing begins: troublesome and at the same time pleasant worries in preparing and conducting a wedding are transmitted with the slightest authenticity. Together with the mother of the groom, the neighbors take an active part in the unforgettable holiday. Distant relatives come from other villages. Gifts are being prepared for the new relatives.

The play «Waiting for you at the wedding» was staged based on the works of the Hero of Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who calls on young people to preserve the good national traditions of the Turkmen people, and especially wedding traditions. State Russian Drama Theatre named after A.S. Pushkin opens the theatrical season with a classic - the play «One Spanish Night», based on the play by the Spanish playwright Georg Haken. The production acquaints the audience with a story that took place over the course of one night in distant times in Spain. The heroes of the play - the miller Lucas and his lovely wife Frasquita, thanks to love and fidelity, managed to maintain their family happiness, despite the mass of intrigues pursuing them. Director Kyyas Gurbanov was very lucky in presenting extras, which brought the spirit of Spain into the performance: a city dweller, surrounded by dancing girls and a jealous wife, sings passionate Spanish songs to the sound of a guitar. This exit occurs twice in the performance, and both times it ignites the audience with its infectious gaiety. The performance «One Spanish Night» cheers up the audience and, worrying about the characters, they get great pleasure from the successful ending of the story.
