Every year, amateur filmmakers from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan take part in the Central Asian Short Film Competition "Shoot in 48 hours".
This year, Turkmen cinematographers sent 18 original films to the contest, the best of which will be presented in Central Asian countries.
The main rule of the film competition is the limited time to complete the task. The theme of the short films is announced from the start of the competition. This time, the participants had to make films taking into account the bridge structure, the phrase "And that's not all!", as well as such a character as a clown.
Having started filming, the teams developed original scripts for two days, shot and edited four-minute films. In addition to creative criteria and semantic content, directors and cameramen had to take into account the technical parameters of the video.
Authors from Turkmenistan have tried to make colorful films that present the culture, traditions and heritage of the Turkmen people. Each team sent one author's film to the jury.
And although cinema is quite difficult and painstaking work, enthusiasts cope, noting that even in limited conditions interesting ideas for future feature-length films are born.
The results of the short film competition will be known in September. The winning teams will be announced in several thematic nominations from among the TOP 48 films.
