From 18th of August to 6th of September, Astrakhan will host the international festival of classical art «Caspian Seasons - 2023».
Creative teams from Turkmenistan were invited to participate in this major cultural event by the governor of the Astrakhan region, Igor Babushkin, during a visit to Ashgabat as part of the «The Caspian Sea – the Sea of Friendship» motocross. The festival is held for the third time in order to strengthen and expand humanitarian ties between the countries of the Caspian region.
The grand opening of the event will take place on the 22nd of August at the Cathedral Square of the Astrakhan Kremlin, where the first concert will take place on the big stage. The Symphony Orchestra of the Caspian States will take part in it, bringing together the best musicians from Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Russia and Turkmenistan. Well-known artists from the countries of the Caspian Sea, including Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Leyli Okdirova, will perform together with the orchestra.
The festival program provides for a wide acquaintance of the audience with the culture and art of the Caspian states.
From 25th to 28th of August, the Astrakhan Philharmonic will host concerts dedicated to each participating country. Day of Turkmenistan will be held on the 28th of August. It is expected that the concert will feature People's Artist of Turkmenistan Atageldi Garyagdyyev, who will perform vocal works accompanied by pianist, Honoured Artist of Turkmenistan Vladimir Mkrtumov, as well as the chamber ensemble «Camerata Ashgabat», whose repertoire includes masterpieces of world classics and works by Turkmen composers.
In addition, during the festival, the Astrakhan Museum of Local Lore will open a photo exhibition «The Caspian Sea – the Sea of Friendship». It will present photographs dedicated to the development of relations between the countries of the Caspian region.
